Streamer Sink Tip 15

I haven’t had a chance to use this yet but will use it this fishing season in northern NH and Maine. The Androscoggin and Connecticut Rivers in NH. And the Magalloway and KennebecRivers in Maine. Also hope to fish Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia this summer.

Streamer Fishing Made Easy with the Cortland's Streamer Sink Tip 15 Fly Line

I bought the Cortland's Streamer Sink Tip 15 5 wt. fly line and I'm very happy with it. It sinks fast and stays in the strike zone longer, which is perfect for streamer fishing. It casts smoothly and accurately, and it doesn't coil up like some other sinking lines. It's also durable and easy to clean. I highly recommend this fly line for anyone who wants to catch big fish with streamers.

The best sink tip line out there!

I’ve tried every brand of fly line there is, and when it comes to sink tip nothing compares to Cortland! It’s worked wonders on bigger water for salmon and I can’t wait to head to a trophy cutthroat lake with it spooled up soon!

Gets down fast

When the river is up and you need to get down fast this line does the trick. Handles great, casts well, and sinks like a champ. Does exactly what a streamer sink tip should.

Conquer Deep, Fast Water with the Streamer Sink Tip 15

September 15th, 2025

When tackling large rivers with deep, fast-moving currents, having the right fly line can make all the difference. In these challenging conditions, you need a line that can dive quickly to the depths and stay there, giving you the best chance to target trophy fish lurking in the deepest pockets of water. The Streamer Sink Tip 15 is specifically engineered for this purpose, combining power, precision, and the optimal sink rate to meet the demands of even the toughest fishing environments. At its core is an aggressive, short taper design paired with an over-weighted head. This dynamic combination allows your rod to load effortlessly, giving you the ability to generate incredible line speed with minimal effort. With this setup, you’ll turn over the largest, most air-resistant streamer patterns with ease, whether they’re heavy articulated streamers or bulky baitfish imitations. Even in windy conditions, this line punches through the elements, delivering your fly with pinpoint accuracy. You’ll cover more water efficiently, spending less time struggling to control your cast and more time fishing effectively where it truly matters.

What sets the Streamer Sink Tip 15 apart as a true deep-water specialist is its extended 15-foot, Type 6 sinking tip. This is more than just a longer tip—it’s a high-density, performance-driven section enhanced with Cortland’s proprietary Tungsten Tip Technology. By infusing the tip with premium tungsten, the line achieves a fast sink rate of six inches per second. This ensures your fly quickly slices through the water column, reaching the strike zone in mere moments. The extended 15-foot length provides a direct and deep connection to your fly, even in strong, swift currents. This extended tip prevents the river’s force from pulling your presentation out of the strike zone prematurely, keeping your fly right where it needs to be to tempt the biggest, most elusive fish. Every detail of the Streamer Sink Tip 15 is thoughtfully designed for both performance and durability. Equipped with dual welded loops on both ends, rigging becomes quick and hassle-free. These strong, reliable loops enable seamless connections to your backing and leader, so you can spend less time setting up and more time fishing. The line’s advanced Shooting Technology (ST) coating adds yet another layer of performance by delivering a super-slick, low-friction finish. This reduces resistance as the line moves through your guides, not only boosting casting distance but also helping to shed water and grime. This feature extends the life of your line, ensuring it performs at its peak season after season.

Built for all-season use, the Streamer Sink Tip 15 is designed to withstand a range of temperatures without sacrificing performance. Its Cold Temperature technology ensures the line remains supple and low-memory in frigid conditions between 30-50°F, so you won’t have to struggle with a stiff or coiled line. Meanwhile, in warmer weather ranging from 50-70°F, the Warm Temperature formulation prevents the line from becoming too soft or losing its structure, maintaining consistent performance in milder climates. The Streamer Sink Tip 15 is a direct result of the Cortland Line Company’s century-long heritage in crafting premium fly lines. For over 100 years, Cortland has been manufacturing fly lines of exceptional quality right here in the USA. The same precision and expertise that have made Cortland a leader in the fishing industry have also contributed to advancements in high-performance fibers for industries like aerospace and medicine. When you need equipment you can trust to succeed in even the most demanding conditions, Cortland’s legacy of American-made innovation and quality delivers time and time again.
