333 Double Taper

The 333 Series Double Taper was designed for anglers who love the feel of a true double taper design. A short front taper makes this an ideal choice for throwing dry flies, nymphs, or streamers. The double taper profile is great for mending and roll casts. The unique mango color allows for easy visibility in all light conditions.

FAQ

Cleaning your fly line is very important especially when fishing saltwater. Simply pull line off your reel into a clean bucket or tub of freshwater. Put roughly 1oz or more of Cortland’s Line Cleaner solution onto a clean rag or towel. Firmly squeeze the towel with Pro Line Cleaner around the line and slowly pull line through the towel. You should be able to see dirt or discolored streaks on the towel when finished.

My favorite line for soft rods

This is one of my favorite lines that I own and it has caught many of my best fish, that being bass, trout, ect...

I primarily fish this line when fishing for trout or using indicators as it can turn them over well.

I enjoy the delicate approach that is offered by this line without an indicator when presenting nymphs and wet flies. Swinging a fly is simple and the long belly allows for Spey casting a viable option aswell.

This line preforms very well with softer actions rods because it can begin a cast with less line as the thin taper at the tips can load a soft rod better than a stiff one. If you are fishing larger water where to need to mend long distances this line works great , the belly of the line being in the center allows you to pick up and mend easily.

I would say that any serious trout angler should consider this line and aswell as anyone looking to start with a little single hand spey.

Haven't used it enough yet

My small creek season hasn't really gotten going yet. I have this on a 6'0" 3wt. Cortland Classic Trout specifically for small creeks. I haven't used it more than 5 times yet. So far I like it, but I have not put in enough time with it for a thorough review.
