My first fly-in outpost fishing trip to northwest Ontario was in 1982. There were four of us, a cousin of mine, a good friend, and his fatherJoe - a seasoned veteran of fishing for big pike in Ontario. Joe only used Eppinger Dardevle spoons, Ambassadeur 5000 reels, and Cortland Squidding braided line!!
I’ve been lucky enough to have made more than 25 trips to this same water system with family and friends. This year’s trip was with that same original good friend, his son, and four other great friends. I still use Dardevle spoons, Ambassadeur 6500C reels, and Cortland braided line…..! My best Northern Pike this year was 40” caught on this gear….Thank-you for continuing to produce your top-class braided lines!!

10 Lb Cortland Master Braid - Bronze
The bronze braid has been great but the 3500yard spool of white 80lb master braid I bought has been super disappointing. It is has a smoother and very different feel than the 10,20, and 65 bronze which has all been awesome. The 80lb white breaks with far less pressure then the 65 bronze.

Been using this line for many years. I have had no reason to ever switch. Just bought a new reel and spooled up with some more 80 pound test for muskies.

I love this line. The gold color even looks like old school mono carp line.
I like the bronze color. It's easy to see but not as bright as yellow. I've used 5 lb. to 60 lb. and have had no problems.
1. The line was $65 for 100yds, didn't realize till I got home, way to expensive for 100yds.
2. Spooled It up on my frog pole fished it for couple of hours,then the it started digging into the spool, which I was told it would not, then I gota backlash casting as the line hit the portion that kept digging in. I could not get the backlash out and ended up cutting it off.
My opinion is that I wasted $65 on line that didn't work as advertised.
I also bought 2 -300yd spools of 50lb test, I hope I don't have the same issue. Very disappointed as a customer, not sure I would recommend to my fellow bass club members. My contact info is [****], email [****].

Got to try it out on my Penn reel with my hellcat rod I got a 38lb flathead it was no match for the set up I had 130lb cortland cast great off the Penn reel strong abrasion resistance is awesome hard to get a good clean cut with line scissors need a good sharp knife I can’t say enough love it
I used Cortland braided products including the Master Braid when I was chartering and will continue to until I can no longer fish. I can not even tell you how many people I have converted from other brands after seeing how my gear performed with it. It will always be the only line on my equipment.

I fished with it today for the first time. Feels really good and vines off the spool very nice. I would have given it 5 stars but I did not catch anything!
Caught a monster on a 5lbs braided line to a 6lbs mono great combo.
This braid is the best I have used. Tightly woven, smooth and nearly waterproof. I will only use Masterbraid from this point forward.
Amazing product. Casts like a dream in both 5 and 8lb for my trout and smallmouth needs. Why noone talks about Cortland braid blows my mind as this is stuff is fantastic right out the box. No break-in period needed.
