The one line that can do it all. Our Tropic Plus All Purpose Taper is the perfect line for the fly angler that is targeting different species in tropic environments.
We built this line with a 41 ft. head featuring a 27 ft. extended body that excels in both short and long range casts. The 7 ft. front taper will turn over a variety of fly sizes without compromising subtle presentations. The 7 ft. back taper paired with the extended body transfers more energy into your cast resulting in superior shoot-ability.
This line features a monofilament core and our signature tropic plus coating for withstanding the hottest temperatures while still remaining slick, supple and fast shooting. The Sand and Blue color combination distinguishes taper change and blends in extremely well with Flats environments.

Our Tropic All Purpose Line is built for tropic environments and will perform best in temperatures above 70 degrees (F). Our Tropic PVC coating is designed to remain hard, slick and supple in the hottest conditions.
The taper design for our Tropic Plus All Purpose line was built to excel in both short and long range casting. The extended body and short rear taper allows for more energy to be transferred into your cast. The average front taper turns over a variety of flies without compromising subtle presentations. This line is built in true line size so your rod never feels overlined when casting maximum distance.
The sand and blue finish distinguishes taper change, while blending in with tropic environments. This line remains stealthy yet traceable out on the flats or mangroves.
Cleaning your fly line is very important especially when fishing saltwater. Simply pull line off your reel into a clean bucket or tub of freshwater. Put roughly 1oz or more of Cortland’s Line Cleaner solution onto a clean rag or towel. Firmly squeeze the towel with Pro Line Cleaner around the line and slowly pull line through the towel. You should be able to see dirt or discolored streaks on the towel when finished.
