Is nylon or fluorocarbon better for fly leaders?
Nylon is often preferred for dry flies and general fishing because it is more supple and floats better. Fluorocarbon is typically chosen for subsurface fishing due to abrasion resistance and sink rate.
Can this leader be used for nymphing?
Yes, for light nymphs and shallow presentations. For deeper or more abrasive environments, fluorocarbon leaders or tippet may be a better choice.
Is this a good leader for beginners?

Just started fly fishing and needed a net. Saw a number with metal frames, but wanted the classic wood look. Almost gave up hope when I found this net at Cortland. Very nicely put together, price is right. Have caught a few small fish and the net did the job. Will be looking to Cortland for more supplies.
Loving it. Works just as well as the $180 versions I’ve used and I’m not nervous to let the kids use it. It looks nice. Definitely a lot easier to dehook a fish with a net and is easier on the fish too. Plus it is nice to be able to admire the fish safely after hook removal.
I have been looking for this net since it has been advertise. I am more than happy when I received it and I know the fishes I catch will be happy too when released with little injury. Fish On!

Well made and light weight. Perfect for knocking around on some of my smaller waters, love it. Found no problems with the finish.
Haven't had a chance to use it yet(winter), but it seems to be a great bang for the buck.
The net itself is great. The finish was full of bubbles and runs from th lacquer. I sanded and refinished it. 😒
This net is the perfect size and lightweight. The net being plastic, won't catch and embed the hook in it.
