TOTAL HEAD LENGHT: 41 FEET
The only thing better than spotting feeding Tarpon on the deck of a flat’s skiff is having a line that will consistently deliver flies into the feeding zone. We designed our Tarpon Taper to be the most reliable Tarpon line on the market.
Our Tarpon Taper is built with a short 7’ body for quickly transferring energy into your cast and delivering flies efficiently. The 31’ back taper helps carry line in the air when longer casts are necessary and allows for quick pickups when the fish are on the move. The short 3’ front taper effortlessly turns over any tarpon patterns and weighted flies.
This line features a monofilament core and our signature liquid crystal coating for withstanding the hottest temperatures while still remaining slick, supple and fast shooting. The sky blue color gives the angler slightly more traceability than our Tarpon Taper clear without compromising too much stealth.

The taper design for our Tarpon line was built to be aggressive up front to quickly transfer energy into your cast and easily turn over any weighted or non-weighted tarpon pattern. The long rear taper helps excel in carrying line in the air and throwing tight loops. It also helps with quick pick ups off the water, when recasting to a target on the move. This line is built in true line size so your rod never feels overlined when casting maximum distance.

Cleaning your fly line is very important especially when fishing saltwater. Simply pull line off your reel into a clean bucket or tub of freshwater. Put roughly 1oz or more of Cortland’s Pro Line Cleaner solution onto a clean rag or towel. Firmly squeeze the towel with Line Cleaner around the line and slowly pull line through the towel. You should be able to see dirt or discolored streaks on the towel when finished.
