Spliceable Hollow Core Fly Line Backing - Chartreuse

C16 Super Braid Fly Line Backing

Braided with a hollow core for fast and reliable splicing. Tight, round weave and uniform pick count (wraps per inch) for an exceptionally smooth surface that packs tightly on the spool with no flattening or digging in. FiberTech penetrates the weave and bonds with the individual Spectra fibers to stiffen and improve the handling characteristics of the line. Fine diameter minimizes line drag when trolling or fighting fish. 16-carrier construction results in incredible resistance to nicks and abrasions.

Great flyreel backing

Good stuff. Easy to splice. What I would really like to have is the good old Dacron Hi Vis trolling line. Jay

Fist time is a charm

I wanted to try something new for me and set up a light rig that could possibly be pulled into the backing multiple times since I often wade fish in the mud which leaves me not able to chase down a fish taking line quickly. I didn’t want to worry about the backing to fly line connection loop becoming jammed in one of the rod guides as the backing moves back and forth through them. I reviewed a Cortland staff how to video for splicing hollow core backing with your fly line. Splicing the lines together is a breeze after watching the how to video. If you’re looking to eliminate the chance for the backing fly line connections from accidentally jamming while moving through the rod guides when fighting behind g fish, I recommend splicing with hollow core Cortland backing.
